Brake Compatibility
Maintenance

Can I get cantilever brake bosses (V-brake) on my (model) bike?

El Fuego, El Saltamontes, X-5, and El Conquistador frames require the addition of our new bolt-on canti-bosses. If you specify this configuration at time of order, we can install them at the factory for AU$60 (includes hardware, and installation).

El Toro/ El Commandante

Can I put a derailleur hanger on a El Toro/ El Commandante?

These frames will take rear derailleur hanger (in place of the stock beverage opener) but does not have a cable stop for a front derailleur so you will have to find either a front derailleur with an integral stop or a clamp-on stop for the seat tube. In addition, there are no front triangle cable stops either (aside from the disk housing retention stops.)

El Saltamontes
Eccentric Bottom Bracket

I have a Saltamontes frame with the 3-4-5” adjustable travel rockers, what are the travel settings at each shock location, and how do I change them?

The farthest shock mounting position away from the seat tube is 3", then 3.5", then 4", and finally 5". Changing travel is as simple as removing the upper shock bolt, rotating the shock to the desired rear travel position, and reinstalling the shock bolt.

When you change the travel, you should also change air pressure and rebound settings, more for more travel, and less for less as the shock compression ratio changes from 1.5:1 at the 3” setting to 2.5:1 at the 5” setting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The eccentric bottom bracket on my El Toro / El Commandante / El Conquistador is not moving – how do I break it free for adjustments without causing any damage?

You must back the bolt all the way out. There are two wedges that need to be completely backed out before the eccentric will move.

RP3 /Lock Lever Shocks

What is the secret with the lockout lever for the rear shock on Conquistador as the lever is sandwiched between the shock the seat tube and the rocker link?

You will have to rotate the shock around so that the lever is in the front once you have determined and set the correct shock pressure. The air valve is not easily accessible with the lever in the forward position so set the pressure first and then flip the shock around so you can access the lockout lever.
